Hmm…since I started this Pea car post sometime ago, it would seem people are starting to speculate of a real version being built to drive on the roads.
The official line from Birdseye is that they have no plans to build a real car, but are still waiting to be informed from their marketing team about a toy car model. However this isn’t to say it can’t and won’t happen, as there is no reason why a promo car can’t be built.
Cadbury’s have a real driveable creme egg car used for promotions as well as drinks manufacturer Red Bull. In fact a rather nice looking Beetle with a large can of Red Bull stuck on the back passed me the other day and I must say it looked impressive.
Apparently these cars are given to students who drive them around all day and is a great way of marketing your products.
Sticking (no pun intended) with Cadbury’s for the moment, I have seen small corgi models of the creme egg car on ebay and apparently these are quite collectable too, although cute, i don’t think there a patch on the Pea Car.
So there is absolutely no reason why Birdseye shouldn’t announce a decision soon to build the Pea Car in model form at least.
Come on Birdseye lets get it on!
I would absolutely love a Pea Car. I was brought up in Bournville and used to see the Cadbury’s Creme Egg car driving around and dream that one day I’d own one! But the pea is even cuter! I have emailed Birdseye to request that they market a full size driveable version of the Pea Car as I am small enough to get in!! Come on Birdseye!!!
