Hyundai UK have discontinued free insurance on the Coupe range and will focus on offering generous discounts instead.
From what I am hearing around the dealer network, nobody really took the insurance offer up due to the restrictions on age. The campaign was aimed solely at the 21-70 yr old’s when it should have been offered to 18 yr olds and upwards.
But at £14,795 for the basic 1.6S, the Coupe would have stretched the pockets of any 18 yr old anyway and priced itself out of that market place and so was a flawed strategy right from day one.
Nice to see Hyundai got the message in the end.
