Nanjing Saves MG Rover

Well I kind of guessed MG Rover would be saved but what was suprising was who actually saved it. It looked like Shanghai Automotive were going to buy the remaining asssets but a bid by late rival Nanjing Automotive stole the day.

I must admit it all whiffs a bit as this could have been sorted long before MG Rover went into administration. This is why I say at the top of this article that I had a hunch it was all going to be resolved.

Now its a case of wait and see what happens. Already artist impressions of what the next generation MG Rovers will look like are going around the net and assurances by Nanjing about how they will do their level best to help some of the people who sweated blood for the ailing car group for many years.

I suppose the good news for the consumer and current MG Rover owners is that they can now sleep soundly knowing that the bargain MG Rover deals on offer from dealers have proved to be a sound investment. It will only be a matter of time before the prices creep back up as confidence builds in the product. There was never any risk in buying one in my opinion as this buyout was always going happen.
