Diesel Market Hits All Time High
Despite the rise in diesel fuel at the pumps, the diesel car market took 36.8 market share, the highest YTD.
This is the 56th successive monthly rise and the 12.1 per cent growth in May was the best rise this year. Diesel volumes have risen by 5.8 per cent over the year-to-date, pushing their market share from 30.9 to 34.8 per cent.
The forecast for the diesel market is 35.6 per cent by the end of 2005 and 38.2 per cent by the end of 2006.
The Ford Mondeo beat the Golf to be the best selling diesel model in May, but the Golf remained top over the year-to-date.
